Martin commenced his career in the law as a Barristers’ Clerk over 40 years ago, in Lincoln’s Inn, and then was First Junior Clerk at 4 Essex Court (now Essex Court Chambers), and then Senior Clerk at 9 Old Square (Lord Hoffman’s Chambers) before moving to chambers in Bedford Row as a Chambers Director and Senior Clerk, until 2002.

Martin established Chambers People in Autumn 2002 – a specialist business consultancy for Barristers’, their Chambers, and law firms. Chambers People operates throughout England and Wales, providing staff, training, business development and other support services.

Martin remains the Director of Chambers People Ltd, but was appointed the Clerk to ArbDB Chambers in Summer 2013 – a specialist chambers for Arbitrators, Mediators, and Dispute Board members. ArbDB Chambers now have an associate office in Dubai, and another in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Martin is married, with two sons, one granddaughter, and when not working, runs, tries to play golf, and visits watches a well-known London football team at Stamford Bridge.
